Appointments
Bookings can be made by telephoning the practice, clicking the “Book Now” button on the website or Facebook page, or via the HOTDOC App.
At home visits are available upon request, please call the clinic to arrange.
Walk in patients are triaged as appropriate. Non-urgent walk in patients are accepted if there is an available appointment, or scheduled to when there is an appointment.

When our practice is closed, if you have a medical problem that cannot wait until the next working day, you can telephone the National Home Doctor Service on 13 SICK (7425).
Fees and billing arrangements
O’Connell St Clinic is a private billing practice, consultation fees are applicable to all patients unless otherwise specified by your doctor. Payment is expected at the time of consultation. For your convenience we utilise the TYRO payment system – this enables processing of your Medicare rebate immediately upon payment.
Fee schedule
Standard Consultation: $100.00 (rebate $41.40)
Long Consultation: $140-200.00 (rebate $81.10)
Prolonged Consultation: $200-295.00(rebate $118)
Communications policy
Our clinical staff do not routinely accept calls during consultations. This is in order to maintain patient focus, and also to protect patient confidentiality. Our reception staff are able to send a message to the doctor notifying them of your call.
Test results, scripts & referrals
You will be notified by your doctor via SMS or telephone about all test results including normal results or those requiring follow up. If you can not be contacted in this manner a letter will be sent to your home address.
It is our preferred policy to provide prescriptions and referrals at the time of consultation. We do offer a request service via the HOTDOC APP, however, it is at the doctor’s discretion as to whether these can be provided in this way.
Reminder system
Our practice is committed to preventative healthcare. Your doctor may at times set reminders within our clinical software. You will receive a message from the practice when these become due, asking you to make an appointment. If you do not wish to receive these reminders, please advise our reception team.
Patient privacy
O’Connell St Clinic acts according to our Privacy Policy which complies with the Australian Privacy Principle (Privacy Act 1998). All staff will respect your privacy. It is our duty to keep your health information confidential and maintain security of this at all times. Our Privacy Policy can be found on our website at ocnlst.com.au/privacy and is also displayed in our reception area.
Patient feedback & rights
At O’Connell St Clinic we value any feedback you may have regarding the care that we have provided to you or your family. This will assist us to improve our services. You may leave your feedback in the suggestion box at reception, or you may discuss this with our Practice Manager, or any member of our clinical or reception team. Formal written complaints can be sent via post to our postal address, or via email to manager@ocnlst.com.au
